There are three main ways in which you can support us….find out more below.
Donate or buy shares
Buy shares
Individuals, organisations and local businesses can purchase withdrawable shares in Freeland Community Hub. Shares are £10 each, minimum investment £10 (one share), maximum holding £50,000 (5,000 shares) per member. See our guidance and forms under Resources.
Donate
In addition to or as an alternative to purchasing shares, supporters can contribute through making donations. Because FCH has charitable status, UK taxpaying donors will receive an uplift from HMRC, increasing the value of their donation to Freeland Community Hub by 25%. In addition, higher rate taxpayers can claim back higher rate tax paid on their donation. The application form explains more about how to donate. See our guidance and forms under Resources.
Help with fundraising
Apply for grants
A small team is already looking for grants and bursaries for which Freeland Community Hub will be eligible. However, these opportunities are dwindling and highly sought-after. So if you have insight into what makes applications successful, or you have the time to help us, get in touch.
Hold an event
Local supporters are laying on a rich array of fundraising events this year, from a Scrabble-athon to music concerts, an Auction of Promises and a Nearly New Sale. If you have an idea, and are prepared to organise it, we can provide support such as hall bookings, promotional materials and a card reader. These events are as much about an opportunity for the community to get together as they are about raising funds. Share your fundraising ideas with us!

Be on the Board
At our AGM on 8 July, the whole Board will stand down, freeing any shareholding member to stand as a new Director. We need energy and fresh ideas! Even if it’s just crossed your mind, give it proper consideration. We want everyone to be involved – more information here.
Hammer & paint!
We are planning to use local contractors for the bulk of the renovation work – the Chapel is a listed building and as such, will need some specialist works carried out. That said, we have some wonderful tradespeople as well as DIYers in the village, and any help – big or small – will be much appreciated. It might be taking a sledgehammer to the floors or partitions, or painting walls and windows. Whatever interests you, we can find a job – small or large – to suit you. Just get in touch.
