Turning our historic Chapel into a vibrant Community Hub

Freeland Community Hub has a mission to strengthen social interaction and enhance the overall wellbeing of our local community through a new community-owned village hub. The former Methodist Church (‘The Chapel’) was seen as ideal for this purpose, but following its closure in 2018, it only came up for sale in Spring 2025. We submitted an offer for the building and on 27 August 2025, we heard it had been accepted. On 5 June 2026, we took possession of the keys.

Now the hard work starts to open this Hub by Spring 2027.

Scrabble-athon fundraiser

Saturday 20 June 2026, 1.30pm

Do you dabble in Scrabble? Think you can do better(s) with your letters? Well come along for a fun, friendly Scrabble-athon in the Newell Room at 1.30pm on Saturday 20 June.

It’s just £5 entry fee, and a maximum of 16 people can take part – so email Jane Duff as soon as you can to secure your place (her address is in the advert opposite), or get in touch through our contact page. All proceeds to the FCH Chapel renovation fund.
